4/28/1951Today, Ankomst Automotive comes before the world to announce an internal scandal that has rocked the company to its very foundation. It was discovered a few days ago that the engineering team behind our latest V8 engine (CV8-48NA-52) embezzled project funds. This has cost the company tens-of-thousands of dollars and has destroyed the trust placed in the engine design team. All of those found responsible have been fired and a team has hastily been put together in order to get he company back on track. It was also found that the V8, although producing more power, weighed significantly more than our updated I6 and produced slower lap times across all of our production vehicles. Due to this scandal we have decided to discontinue the CV8-48NA-52 and are in the midst of a complete redesign of our V8 engine. We have set the following goals for our new V8:
- Must use existing hardware developed for the '52 I6 engine
- Must produce more power than the I6
- Must produce faster lap times than the I6
- Must cost less than $1000 in materials to produce
We hope to have the new engine ready for use in all 1952 model year cars when they become available. Again Ankomst would like to apologize and reiterate our stance on quality and integrity moving forward.
