Diamante Traveler

In addition to the other models of 1965 Diamante needed a car for the every day driver. Something normal, cheap, fuel efficient and also, reliable. In order to try and meet this need Diamante needed a small car with a small engine, and nothing too fancy. Thus the Traveler was born.
A 2185 pound 100 cubic inch 4 cylinder 3 gear rwd drive car to get the everyday joe to work and back.
Ran off 92 leaded fuel and got an economy of 9.69lt/100km. Good for the wallet.
Engine specs were as followed.
72hp@4500rpms
89 ft-lb torque@3400
This car sat on 195/615/15 tires and had seating for 5.
Standard safety features, standard interior, and standard entertainment made this the perfect to and from car.
MSRP at $18,999 and we had a car to compete in the lower class standards!

SSP tuning

In 1967 Diamante hired a special team of elite engineers to take models they had already put out and perhaps add a little spice to them. Due to popular demand of higher performance cars Diamante needed an edge and they needed the right people from the job.
The team consisted of 4 people from 4 very different countries that had an edge in different areas of performance. One from italy, germany, japan, and last but not least america.
They needed different aspects added to different cars. Italy for exotic performance, Japan for the high performance 4 cylinders, america for that high end muscle car power, and germany for quality control.
The teams first task was not a small one either, the first contract handed to them was to take there most succesful performance vehicle, The Tackler and give it a little more umph.
The car was to be released in 1967 and would have a name named after the team who engineered it.
The name of the team put together was SSP which stood for "Serious Street Performance"

DIamante Tackler SSP

In 1967 the car everyone had been anxiously awaiting had arrived. The DIamante Tackler SSP edition was here!
The car had undergone some physical changes as well as some performance changes as well!
To properly cool the extra performance a larger grille was added and lights were removed.
The new Tackler had a 400 cubic inch engine that was slightly overhauled. The new numbers were as followed.
317hp@4300rpms
400ft-lb of torque@3800 rpms. (WOW!)
Redline was 4400 rpms.
Ran off 98 leaded fuel.
The cars suspension and material for chassis remained the same.
The complete weight of the SSP Tackler was 3288 lbs. The new tackler could rocket from 0-100km/h 6.7 seconds. HURRAH! The power was transmitted through the regular 4 speed manual gearbox found in the regular model Tackler.
The fuel economy of course was down the drain. 17.92lt/100kms.
The car seated 4 and had standard safety, entertainment, and interior.
The SSP tackler used 205/630/15 tires in the front and 255/630/15 in the back and all 4 tires were now a medium compound road tire.
The new tackler was a little more expensive but due to the new engineers hired they found a way to make it slightly cheaper to produce then it would normally.
The final MSRP of the Tackler SSP was $49,995
But for 50 thousand dollars in 1967, this was a pretty competitive car in its class.

Only 500 of these special edition tacklers were to be made.

Re: Diamante Motors

Fantastic vehicles and BEAUTIFUL quality! A few things to remember;
- The vehicles in 1958, for example, costed only about $2,200 on average.
- Don't forget the five car stats (Tameness, Sportiness, etc.)! These ones are a determining factor of the car :P

Apart from that,
The vehicles are fantastic! Continue making these quality cars!

P.S. Whenever you want to find the price of what a car costed in 1940 - 1979, go to http://www.iwannagetthat.com/NewFiles/1900.html and replace the "00" with your
year number. Whenever you want something higher than 1979, go to http://www.thepeoplehistory.com/1980.html and replace the "1980" with your year. Enjoy!
P.P.S. The website "thepeoplehistory.com" doesn't always have the average pricing of cars. If this is the case, a simple google of "how much did a car cost in ----" will tell
you!

Have fun and have a nice day! :D

Well, i did state in one of my posts that i was going to be basing prices around the year 2000 in canadian economy.
Meaning i was using the same market value of cars throughout all the years of Diamante models.

1967 Diamante Boush Limited (SSP)

The Diamante Boush which was a pretty successful mid-high class car, needed something with a little more reason to be considered the classy mans car. So Diamante overhauled it. They hired the SSP team to make a limited edition version of the Boush. Only 1000 of these were produced. The car consisted of minor changes to the body to allow more air flow in to the engine compartment and all chassis and body design modeling was fairly the same. The engine was the real reason SSP was contracted.
In 1967 a big accomplishment was made. The engine powering the Limited Boush was a 150 cubic inch inline 6 engine. All of which surprisingly, was made once again, out of all cast iron. For a valve train they still used a 2 valve push rod engine. As it was cheap to produce all of these components to the engine, it remained budget friendly.
The engine was also fitted with tubular exhaust headers, and no muffler system, or catalytic system. Allowing all exhaust to be very efficient. The engine had 1 4barrel carburetor.
This alongside a more aggressive cam and higher ignition timing allowed this engine to produce 150hp@5200rpms and 157ft-lb torque@ 4700rpms.
This was the first ever of Diamantes Engines to have 1hp per cubic inch produced!
The car had a 4 gear transmission to help plant that power to the ground and sat on 195/500/13 in the front for tires and 205/500/13 in the rear.
The tires were long life hard compound not very sporty so that the car could still be driven as a daily driver and could reach 0-100km/h in 9.90seconds. This was a much more impressive Boush.
The car had an all around premium interior, premium entertainment and premium safety features. The entire car weighed in at 2047lbs. Fuel economy was rated at 10.86L/100kms not bad!
Due to the upgrade in technology cast iron parts had become slightly cheaper to produce as well as ladder steel frames, so the car was cheaper to manufacture. But due to all the engineering time needed to make this engine produce a high output, costs balanced out, and thus the 1967 Diamante Boush SSP Limited would be sold for $32,999

Discontinuation

Diamante regrets to inform the public that the Diamante Bella has been discontinued.
The car will not see any further models, or improvements. Although it has been a major success producing this model, it is time to move on.
For those of you who currently own a Diamante Bella, parts and servicing will still be available at your local Diamante Dealership.
This was the car that started Diamante off and will always be remembered.

However,
We do want to inform you that not all the news we bear is bad news.
Because Diamante was based upon luxury and quality, we will be replacing Bella with a new luxury car.
It will be much more luxurious, much more powerful, and of course, chrome!
