Re: Roadstar Motors

I liked your text (and the car) very much! Nice work! But...

As a side note our design division is already coming up with compact k*tchen (spam filter doesn't seem to like this word) and shower designs that can be fit into a car(...)

WHAT?! That's mad!

Re: Roadstar Motors

It's not mad .. it's visionary! Think about it for a second. It is next logical step after self-driving cars. Soon people will want to make their morning coffee with eggs and bacon while taking their morning shower while begin driven to work. Time savings man!

Re: Roadstar Motors

Yeah Yeah, OK... That would be nice. But you would need a lot of space to put an oven and a shower inside the car... I can already imagine the mess it would cause!

Re: Roadstar Motors

I got tired of making full-on sports cars and I probably won't make another until we get limited slip differentials or something like that. Which means I made car using new sedan body instead. You could say it's a flagship model equipped with luxury everything. It's 2 ton 2014 RM Executive.

Image
Let's just say I treat 3d model as approximation of how actual car should look like. I'll be using this excuse until we can sculpt body shells (so forever) .

Automatic transmission. AHS steel monocoque, aluminium panels. Suspension is McPherson / Multi-link.

Goes around airfield track in 1:28.10 (faster than Evo X / Impreza WRX Sti, pretty nimble for 2 ton car with automatic), automation test track in 2:28.29.

Re: Roadstar Motors

Looks a bit like a Chrysler 300 mixed with a PT cruiser, but that's just me. The stats are really good!

Re: Roadstar Motors

That looks fantastic! It's like a mixture between a Rover and a Chrysler. But well-made :D

Re: Roadstar Motors

All round a great executive car, very good power and torque figures without being excessively expensive.

Re: Roadstar Motors

I don't think it looks all that good :P . Nothing new though, I don't spend as much time on looks as on fiddling with stats. I think you might be fooled a bit by angle I took the picture at. Makes it look nicely round I guess. Actual use of fixtures on it is pretty basic.

Re: Roadstar Motors

Since CTC#4 ended I can post my car. It's not the actual entry (which was modified a bit because I couldn't make it score particularly well in initial target group, as a result it ended up as bizarre 185 km/h v-max 2 litre "super car" with wing in front) but what it was meant to be, reasonably priced sports car. It's 1977 RM Bulldog V8T. T stands for track, it's special version of the car with semi-slick tires (not recommended for road use, you do get regular set of tires with it ) and some super special badges on the car that no doubt rise prestige a bit ;) . It has pretty unusual 2 litre V8 powering it but more on that later.

Image

Image

While it can't rival super cars of the time in top speed it certainly can with acceleration of 5.5 seconds from 0-100 km/h, under 14 seconds 1/4 mile time and just over 25 seconds standing kilometre time. It's no slouch in corners too! It can go around Airfield Track under 1:28! Better than modern sports car like BMW Z4! All thanks to light-weight construction using fibre-glass panels.

As I said engine in this thing is pretty unusual. First of all it's a 2 litre V8, hard to find smaller one in production car, second it goes over 8000 rpm, third it's quad carburettor design for 184 hp engine. There is a reason for that, these 3 things come together to make this engine incredibly responsive for 1977 unit. Oh it also would be first 5 valve per cylinder production engine. It also sounds great!

If you're interested in dissecting it more I'm attaching lua file.

Award winning hot hatch called RM Rigel. http://www.automationhub.net/company-ca ... rmodel/208

Image

It's somewhat toned down, cheaper brother, still fun to drive though! http://www.automationhub.net/company-ca ... rmodel/404

Image

Last but certainly not least 1000 hp mid engine monster that's surprisingly comfortable. RM Supernova. http://www.automationhub.net/company-ca ... rmodel/408

And another one.

RM Executive is back. It's way more comfortable than before and looks quite a bit better imho.

Nice stats! Good to see a realistic car that doesn't cost too much!
