Re: Velocity Engineering

Nice looking cars and it's a nice detail that you also gave a few words about the history of your company & it's models.

Sabre Revival?

Production of Velocity's first in house vehicle the Sabre only lasted until 1988 with only 1,798 cars produced. It gained widespread popularity but customers started asking if the beloved Sabre would make a return in a more modern form. Velocity was listening to it's consumers and soon began development on a next generation Sabre.

Coming Soon...

Re: Velocity Engineering

Sorry for the lack of posts guys, I've been so busy with college that I didn't know there was a major update until now! But I should get back on track and start making vehicles again..... hopefully

Special Request.... Again

With vehicles getting faster, police departments needed quicker vehicles to keep up with the baddies... The Velocity Police Interceptor was fantastic in it's time and the Harris County Sheriff Department used them until the early 2000's.. But like other vehicles before it, the Interceptor became outclassed by newer faster cars.

Extremely satisfied with their last vehicle order, in 2013 Harris County once again asked Velocity for another cruiser that could put up with the punishment of everyday abuse..
In 2015 Velocity introduced the PPV, short for Police Pursuit Vehicle.

Following the same formula as the Interceptor, the PPV looks like your average 4 door sedan and doesn't look very sporty.

But that is where you would be wrong.... Velocity punched out the older 5.6L V8 to now displace 6.0L and gave it a little bit of modern tech.

Image

Now producing 405 horsepower and twisting with 384 ft/lbs of torque the PPV can reach 62 mph in 5.5 seconds with a limited top speed of 140 mph... Not too shabby.
Also the PPV is more efficient and refined achieving 19 mpg at the proving grounds, also included is the newest safety equipment to ensure the safety of the officer in an accident.

Impressed once again, Harris County ordered 150 cars and signed a 10 year contract for future police vehicles from Velocity.

Sheriff SUV

Upset that the current Chevy Tahoe PPV is unavailable with the 6.2 LT1 V8 the Harris County Sheriff's Department came to Velocity for a Utility SUV that could also act as a pursuit vehicle when needed.

So taking elements from the current Chevy Tahoe and Current Ford Explorer, Velocity came up with a Utility PPV with a little more kick.

Powered by a LT6 which is basically a LT5 tuned for more torque the new engine pumps out 416 horsepower and 399 lb/ft of torque.

Combined with AWD and a 6 speed sequential gearbox, the SUV has 0-60 times in the low 5 second range, top speed is electronically limited to 119 mph. The PPV sedans will be used if speeds exceed 120 mph.

Fuel consumption is not an issue for the Sheriff Department but the Utility averaged 14.7 mpg during testing, not too bad for a 2.5 ton SUV with 400+ horsepower.

With good performance and outstanding utility, the Sheriff's Department ordered 50 Utility PPVs with another 50 more over the course of a year.
