History:

Otto Fuchsmer was born on November 11, 1917 in the town of Bad Reichenhall. Otto's earlier years were filled with hardship of the recent German defeat in 1918 and to add to his troubles as his father abandoned him and his younger sister in 1921. Once Otto was old enough he worked to support his family and when old enough he joined the Wehrmacht being trained as a tank commander. He served with the 2nd Panzer Division until the surrender of Germany in 1945 where he returned to Munich to find work rebuilding motors and various mechanized equipment. In 1947 Otto put all his recent savings and with the help of the recent influx of money from the American's he started up Fuchsmer Motorenwerk (FMW) on Friday November 28, 1947.
