Westaur Automotive Co.

Founded on February 12th, 1924, the Westaur Automotive Co. began it's business and set up company offices in Toronto, ON, Canada. During it's infancy in the roaring 1920's, Westaur Automotive Co. was in the midst of researching and developing current and future automotive technologies for use in it's concept vehicles.

The first concept appeared shortly before the beginning of the great depression. The concept rolled out on August 14th, 1929. Investors were met with near top of the line technologies packed into a mid size coupe. Comfortable, powerful, reliable, efficient; all words used to define the prototype brought forth from Westaur. Investors and curious people lined up to view and question the CEO about when they would be producing this vehicle. Shortly, a few months later, the great depression quickly turned the aspiring motor company into the fear of the modern man and brought it to it's knee's.

Westaur Automotive Co. survived through sporadic investments and was carried through the depression and the beginning of WWII by the hands of a wealthy family. They purchased much of the company but left the CEO, and his team of engineers to continue refining the vehicle.

Come late in the first fiscal quarter of 1945 Westaur released the "Type W1" based on the "Awakening" Chassis that first appeared on the concept car of 1929.

Painted a light blue to keep the general population morale high; the vehicle didn't see many orders mainly due to the high asking price($6759) during a time of stress. At the end of the war, orders would steadily begin to come in.

The engine was a 2.5l I4 SOHC engine. Hand built, and engineered to provide power, reliaility, and earth saving economy.

The Vehicle was hand built with a very low production of just 30 vehicles (+1 concept for a total of 31) in it's long 5 year run for a total of 6 vehicles per year.
