How to make cars faster?

I seem to be having trouble making my 0-62 mph times acceptable. Iv'e spent over 45 minutes messing with the gearing to get this car to get to 62 in under 5 secconds when it should be going much faster in my opinion. What am I doing wrong?? Attached is my engine, platform, and model.
Thanks for your time.

Re: How to make cars faster?

I took a look at your engine and car, and i'm no expert, but what you're seeing is major turbo lag mixed with the fact that your putting 600hp+ through the rear wheels.

When you put your foot down your car just spins away pointlessly that 687hp you worked to get at. Make the engine smaller, fit 4WD and use the same tyres, you'll be surprised.

Below, you can see I put in one of my engines. Its a 5.7L un-turbo'd brute. Although it has less HP than your original engine, it has made room for 4WD meaning it can put more power down, and no turbos mean you dont suffer from turbo lag.
