The engine was created under the impression of such cars as the Chevrolet Impala, etc

Really nice, but I think you have to lower the redline to get a better reliability.
Everything above 5300rpm doesn't make sense, because your Power and toque falls sharply.

Well, the Impala never used a V8 DOHC (later models have a V6 DOHC option), and there were no 5.0L V8's in 1957. They used pushrods (OHV) on nearly every small block chevy. In 1957 the engines were 265ci and 283ci. 327's arrived in 1962. 5.0L engines available were 302ci, available in 1966-67, and 305 in 1975. All of these engines were pushrod V8s. The earliest GM production V8 engine I can think of with SOHC/DOHC is the Northstar in the 90's. Ford did use some SOHC/DOHC engines, but none that I can recall until the Modular V8's of the 90's.

Technically, the LT5 in the Corvette ZR-1 was the earliest GM DOHC V8... even though it was designed by Lotus and built by Mercury Marine.

I didn't set a goal to make an exact copy. It is rather a free fantasy. But for the information thank you.

Well, OHC vs OHV is kind of a big deal with American cars. ;)

Agreed. Somebody used to make a DOHC kit for small bock chevys; not sure if you can still find them

This would be more period for a late 50's sporty american car. The triple carb setup might be a little early for factory spec but people were using the system back then.

That's period correct for factory spec. Pontiac came out with the Tri-Power (3x2-bbl) setup in '57.

An interesting thing. And there are specifications? In the free time to cast spells over. ;)

Thank you. If only more valves per cylinder (like 2?) power and torque.
Now there is this.
