Charma Automobiles Engine / Model Revamp Challenge!

Alrighty, so I had a very good turn out for my Engine Challenge that I had some people ask me to do another and even had some suggestions for what I should do. So here it is!

I have made a car that is to be a competitor in the eco hatch scene in the late 80s kinda like the Honda CRX, or Volkswagen Golf, it is just a small 1.5L and gets great gas mileage at 31.5 MPG. The car will Be Branded as a Charma but you will have full control over the cars name, just please keep it classy and something you would name one of your own. I will also write up a history of the said car once a winner has been decided, with this said I do not have a pre made history for the car as I will leave it up to your car to give me ideas as to were it will lead. Feel free to modify the body slightly but leave the shape and lights alone, but you can add what ever you want, but this will also be judged based on the looks of the car as well as the motor, think of it like a special edition of the car or performance pack.

The goal here is to do what both Honda and Volkswagen were able to achieve with their Si and GTi models, making the engine more powerful, sportier, and a lot more fun to drive.

so here are the rules:
1.the year is 1987 and carb is a must.
2. the motor is not to be changed in the aspect that it must remain the same stroke and bore, however you may make changes almost everywhere else.
3. the engine stays NA ( if Honda can do it so can you ;) )
4. this is a street car so no crazy race manifolds or intakes
5. no BPV
6. you are able to spend a total of 15 on chassis, 20 tech points in the engine and 30 tech points spread out in trans, tires, interior and so on.

thursday is cut off for platforms to come in, I will begin judging on friday and post up scores individually so you see where you sit as soon as I judge it, all models will be judged by saurday night and a winner will follow. Please no pm's with entries, it gets to confusing for me to keep track of them because I delete my inbox often.

hope you guys enjoy this :) and oh did I mention this is a V8?

You'll also need to attach the platform and engine files, as the model file itself is mostly useless.

yes...... you must also clarify if catalytic converters are mandatory.
also you should send the platform and engine files... (i assume this is not intended for the open beta users)

The year for the platform comes up as 1980. I am assuming we should change that to 1987?

You can if you like, my game was glitching out and wouldn't let me change the year from 1980 or the engine from 2014'. If your able to get it to 1987 please feel free to change it.

here is the engine guys, because I am using the new beta I no longer have Platforms so I am not able to upload a platform.

For those wondering the open beta isnt that glitchy really, I am on a very out dated computer and barely meet minimum requirements and seem to have no issues besides small bugs like build years and such. worth upgrading :)

anyways hope that helps

They will not be able to compete, as costs are not calculated in their version. Also, they will have the advantage of an un-nerfed fuel system.

Here is my engine entry, a 170hp heart to a potent hot hatch. It was enough power to smoke the Golf GTi and the Civic Si of the time period, and has 10 more horsepower than the rare Golf Rallye. It's all-aluminum construction makes it around 50lbs lighter than the original as well! And, of course, it is in the traditional Charma Orange.

thanks Jakgoe for your entry, haha Thanks for remembering the traditional Valve cover colour lets see how many people remember ;)

and GT1Cooper, yea I figured it wouldnt be compatible. oh well I hope that doesnt scare anyone away, the new update really isnt that bad at all. It even runs and loads way faster on my old dinosaur computer haha.

haha I know right? I love the idea of a high revving 1.5L V8. truthfully anything that can rev to the moon and still make power at the top end is just perfect in my opinion!
