Knight Automotive Engines

Hello all, and welcome to the engine portion of Knight Automotive. The Knight Automotive Division of Denevo was founded in 1947 following the huge success of Denevo Motors, mainly the Vei (no body design yet, waiting for the 50's coupé), and the Hyperio (still waiting for the 50's coupé), with $14 700.

The first engine, used mainly in Knight's more compact vehicles, is the K300SL:

Some basic specs:
Displacement: 1549ccm, 1.5L
Power: 52.1 HP
Cost: $451.08
Manufacturing Hours: 17.4
The second engine, which is used more in Knight's performance-based cars, is the K350SE:

Power: 59 HP
Cost: $461.14
Manufacturing Hours: 33.7
Have a great day!

Re: Knight Automotive Engines

neat engines, but the performance engine defeats the purpose :P, 10 dollars more, and instead of 17 hours, you have 30 some hours... which translates to assuming you want to be nice to your workers 6 bucks an hour X 30 = 180 dollars, where 17 X 6 lands at the 10 dollar range, a huge difference in the car world, in addition you were only able to get what ? 9 horses more ? My suggestion ( not that you have to follow it ) would be raise the fuel , and raise the compression to a high degree, since the buyer is likely not going to care about how much gas it uses, where the average joe will care.. hence why he buys the cheaper engine

Re: Knight Automotive Engines

NEW YEAR: 1948! After the big failure of the K350SE's production, Knight Automotive has decided to re-make it, in the form of a high-displacement (1.8L), performance engine. Still keeping the I4 aspect, the K350DE engine has less Manufacturing hours, more horsepower, and has been designed in the new year, February 1948. Using new performance technologies (2 Barrel Carburettors!), the K350DE is sure to be much better than that of the K350SE.

Here's the engine:

Basic statistics:
Displacement: 1.8L, 1836CC
Power: 83.9HP
Torque: 99.2ft-lb
Cost: $492.03
Man. Hours: 23.7

This is the engine that will be put into Knight's future performance-based cars of the rest of the 40's, and the early 50's (Possibly a car known as the "Sworda"? ;) ).

Re: Knight Automotive Engines

Can you sacrifice a bit of lifetime for a few horsepower? Only the power is at its limit at the rev limit so there may be a few more to find. Otherwise, a great ol' engine!
