BMW E30 i6

This straight six is based on BMW's M20B25 (as used in the '83-'94 E30 325I, ). As I still can't really get the turbo's under control (can't prevent sudden peaks of boost, or permanently blowing wastegates) to build a usefull turbocharged engine, I decided to build a N/A one.
Do you guys have any tips on building usefull T/C engines or improving this one?

[EDIT] changed some things to make it more like the real engine (rev1)

Re: BMW E30 i6

From what has been said on the forums the waste gate is still very buggy still and it needs to be worked on

Re: BMW E30 i6

not a problem when you build like 2500bhp twin turbo V8s yeah the boost doesnt really match up with the Red line on the turbo graph it follows more like the blue line...I think the maths is off but who knows...only Daffy and crew know..

By "blowing wastegates" I assume you're referring to the wastegate light turning on? That just means that it's doing it's job, which regulating max boost. Perfectly normal. In fact, if the light doesn't turn on then your turbo settings are probably terrible.

As far as boost ramping up suddenly, this is just one of the less realistic aspects of turbochargers in the game in my opinion. All you can do is minimize it by running smaller turbos and less boost. Don't let it dissuade from messing with turbos, though, they're still lots of fun.

Ah right, then it's sound is maybe a bit too overwhelming? (then again it is still in development) I've had my fun with turbo's already, making monsters with 0 MTBF and incredible boost but I wanted to create something drivable :)
