copy/pasting code? tsk tsk tsk functions are your friend...unless it's main. he's just a jerk  I should clarify. A guy I work with gets all over my ass for not using more functions. He's not a very good programmer but ever since he read the clean code book he's had a holier-than-thou attitude with programming...suffice to say the rest of us screw with him all the time.

External language files, not code. I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing :D

Exactly :) it's just all strings that got externalized... this will make possible a community based localization project too!

Re: Engine Designer Update - Scenarios and New Menus

Was just a copy and paste mistake into a giant spreadsheet containing all of the text used in the game. I thought it was fixed before I made the video, but I mustn't of done an SVN Update to get the fix from Nortala.

Man I can't follow this game enough. The fact that you guys are so open with the development and what not is cool and definitely a refreshing change of pace. I've already convinced my roommate to pre-order it along with me so that's at least two fans/customers you guys have over here in the states.

Re: Engine Designer Update - Scenarios and New Menus

There is no point in not being open, we don't have anything to hide. Being honest and open is how to build trust, and we need that trust being non-proven developers with no previous titles.

And with that, Zeussy hits the nail on its head. Without building a solid core fanbase through trust, a project like this is dead in its shoes.

Re: Engine Designer Update - Scenarios and New Menus

Or, you could hype the game like nothing has even been hyped before. Screenshot alot of stuff thats never going to be included into the game, neglect testing and release it for 50-60 euroes.

Im sorry, i was thinking about Firefly and stronghold 3.

You'll be excited to start it up but it'll crash to desktop after 30 seconds leaving you disappointed?
