Engine Designer Update - Scenarios and New Menus

Over the past few weeks we've been working on adding Scenarios to the Engine Designer.

These short missions task you with designing or redesigning engines to certain specifications and restrictions, and I must say, even for us they're actually a lot of fun and some of them are quite challenging!

There is also some pretty new UI stuff that I've been working on, and a variety of art updates and gameplay tweaks!

Nice work and I am liking the look, the start scenario button is kinda big but its not to bad (and probably the place holder you were talking about)... I also see a scenario in the list that looks like one I suggested... WOOT its so close I can feel it...

Wow, i'm seriously looking forward to this! Too bad I don't have time to be in the beta testing, for this looks really interesting. I'm impressed!

That looks really good and adds an interesting challenge to the original sandbox premise.

This is like chinese water torture. I need to get my hands on it. Especially now that the scenarios are in. I curious to know which one of my contributions (if any) made the cut. :!: I have my suspicions but gaaaah...I need to know!

Great Job guys! That looks like an excellent tease until the actual game is released. I'm glad to see some of the scenarios are almost tutorial like to teach you certain engine building skills.

Re: Engine Designer Update - Scenarios and New Menus

so excited! :)

I noticed that when you achieved the bronze rank, it overwrote your previous platinum rank. Is that supposed to happen?

Good call machalel, that is definitely a bug and it will be fixed before the demo is released. :)I'll leave the filing of that bug report to you once you join the beta team ;)
Cheers!

Re: Engine Designer Update - Scenarios and New Menus

At 1:05 I noticed that torque was displayed as kw not NM. line two Torque 138.1 kw@3600 RPM ( Torque 138.1 nm@3600rpm) I think this must be a data base error later after the test it was the same way.

Re: Engine Designer Update - Scenarios and New Menus

Hah, well spotted yes, it does display KW there, we've moved all the in game text to an external file so we can translate it more easily, but it has made a few little bugs like that crop up
