Sunday Update

The Lua Integration is going really well.

We are currently focusing all of our efforts on creating the Engine Designer. Using Lua for the back end calculations, it is allowing a much quicker rate of development than was previously possible. The engine designer will eventually take in a massive set of variables to produce Power and Torque graphs, emissions rating, efficiency and smoothness.

Designing the engine will cover almost everything to do with an engine, from block configurations to cam profiles and aspiration.

The designer will also have a strong visual component, and you will be presented with a 3D view of the engine and its components.

Soon we will be converting away from the current 3D engine we are using (Irrlicht) due to some of its limitations, mainly in the Art Asset pipeline and Shader systems. This will be a bit of a pain to do, but all of the gameplay code is completely separate from the 3D engine. The 3D engine just serves the interface which in its current state is very basic to test the systems so far written.

So thats about it for this week.
