Beautiful car!! I have very high hopes of getting obtaining a Z4 M Coupe myself one day, I just don't ever see them come through any of the auctions. You can find convertibles all day long, but I don't like the convertibles at all. Totally different car in my opinion.

My 1999 Z3 Coupe' 2.8L is somewhat rare. It's one of 883 with the 2.8L engine sold in the US and one of 2,178 with the 2.8L sold worldwide. I have no idea what the numbers are by transmission/color/etc. but mine is a five-speed manual in black. I wish it was an M car, but hey, it's still an absolute blast to drive.

Also @07CobaltGirl, I had an 84 Z28 with the L69 code 5.0L. That car was so much fun. I was very pleased and surprised with the power of the car. For such low numbers on paper it felt really peppy, and just loved to rev. Shortly after I purchased the vehicle I converted it to a 4-speed manual out of an 83 Z28. Shortly after that, I missed third gear one too many times and blew up that poor 5 liter. I ended up replacing the 305 with a roughly 250 horsepower 350. I also converted it to rear disc with positraction and a 2.73 ratio. The transmission was geared in such a way that it complimented the high rear-end gear ratio perfectly. It ran mid 14's in the 1/4 and would still run 120-130 mph. It is the only car I've ever owned that I actually sold and I regret it every day. I had so much time invested and so many good times and good memories in it.

Anyhow, I saw that picture of the one you posted and it all just came flooding back. THANKS FOR OPENING UP OLD WOUNDS!

haha you're welcome?

Mine was a 4speed from the factory, which is why it came with that icky 305 to begin with. IMHO, the Z28 was the performance version of the Camaro, and putting an eco-V8 into it is just silly. Save that noise for the Berlinetta who just want a V8 to say they have one!!! The 305 is barely a V8 motor. A 350 is for performance. But, alas, during the early 80's the only way to get a 350 and a stick from GM was to buy a Corvette (and those were actually pretty rare too). The 350 for the Camaro in the early 80s, with the automatic 3speed, was a crossfire system, which was actually pretty badass! I love 3rd Gen F-bodies!!!! (despite all of their creaks and electrical problems)

I agree, I've always considered the Z28 to be top performance model. For instance, I would take the 1st gen Camaro Z28 with the 302 DZ engine over a 1st gen big block SS any day. And I hear you on the eco 305. The very first thing I did to that car after getting bored with it was replaced the electronic controlled Quadrajet with a Carter 600cfm, installed normal HEI distributer, and removed all the air injection pump garbage. It was noticeably more powerful and responsive, and on top of that, I got rid of about 20 pounds of ECM wiring and emissions hoses. It seemed to hurt the fuel mileage but who cares? I didn't ever drive that car economically anyways, if it didn't see 5,000 plus rpm on every trip, it wasn't me driving it. I guess I can't knock it too much though. The 5.0L did take a lot of abuse and held out after burying the 8,000 rpm tach quite a few times after missed shifts and one instance of a stuck wide-open-throttle. After I spun the rod bearing, I drove it occasionally just to try to grenade it and it never did let go. Point is, regardless of it's displacement, the 5.0L is still a Chevrolet small-block engine. It's still eager to perform, just not the way General Motors released it. With all the emissions laws flowing in during that era I suppose it's not even really their fault. Seems like they finally got it right when they introduced the tuned-port-injection. A 5.0L with one of those on top actually ran pretty good. Something to the tune of around 235 horsepower I think.

Holy cow I just realized how much I rambled. I'll stop now lol. In a nutshell, 3rd gen F-bodies are pretty sweet. I certainly enjoyed the time I had with mine. I'll have another one someday for sure.

Hi people,

I bought this game for some inspiration to finish my 1984 Porsche 928 sitting in my basement. I am not sure exactly how rare this one is from the other 60,000 928's made, but it is rare to be in the United States, it is the more powerful european model, I believe there were 1200 imported from the 1970's to the 1990's. I have had it for over a decade and recently found out that it might be fixed with an 80 dollar sensor - to start off the restore. I bought it nonrunning - no spark. Whatever you might call it - galactic karma, I did not know this until recently. If I would have fixed this car at 25, I doubt it would be worth the sum of it's parts by now. Some of us have to grow out of a fool stage, and I am almost done.

After this and a 1968 Triumph TR250 restore (one of 715), I am done with rare cars. They are more of a pain than what they are worth. After decades of enthusiasm I am tired of hearing on the other end of the phone "oh wait - you have a what model? oh that one.. no we do not have parts for that. try so-and-so." Or "oh yes we have that - that part will be seventeen trillion dollars and 23 billion cents."

I figure that in two years this game should be released. This is my new deadline for having my last two car projects wrapped up by then. From that point forward, my engine builds will be done with clicks and sliders.

Edit - I would be doing the CRX a disservice without mentioning that it is a 1987 CRX si. Less than 1.5 percent of all CRX models of those years.

Let's see, I have a
66 Datsun Fairlady roadster, which has become rare
63 Plymouth Valiant 4 dr, which also has become rare (most were crushed decades ago)
1950 Dodge B-2-B-108 5 window, low bedside, springtime special, 4 speed, with radio......I honestly don't know how many were made but it may be a 1/1 at this point.

Rarest would have to be my 1973 BMW 3.0CSA - no. 72 of 219 built from 73-75 according to the E9 registry.

No pictures but an all original with factory a/c 1967 plymouth Belvedere II with a 318. The production numbers were somewhere in the mid thousands. I believe around 5000 for 4 door sedan with 318 and something like 1800 or so with factory air.

On Tuesday I'm picking up a Toyota GT86 Giallo to replace my Prius. There were only (surprisingly enough) 86 built, 71 or so are currently on the road.

I just purchased a gorgeous 1970 Buick Electra 225 Convertible. Interesting note about this year is that its the last year for the Electra convertible, and the first year they put the Buick 455 in regular passenger cars, and the last year of the high power 455s. Starting in 1971 they started dropping compression and increasing emission systems that dropped hp. My convertible is 1 of 6,045 made that year with the 455.

This is slightly unrelated as it's my Step-Dad's car rather than my own, but he has a 1993 Jaguar XJ12, the last XJ to have a 6.0l V12 and the last to have circular headlights. Only 96 currently on the road in the UK.

I have a 2013 Ford Mustang GT/CS which I bought used with 1501 miles on it. (I basically stole the car. It helps to know your dealer :D) According to the GT/CS registry, it is one of 2,998 cars for 2013 and one of 535 coupes in Performance white for 2013. It's also one of 128 with a MT82 6-speed transmission with 3.73 gears.

I love this car. I found the speed limiter at 148 MPH... I'm taking that off as soon as the warranty expires.
