After riding a bicycle a year I think, I have a new car!!!

This 1980 Peugeot 604 Ti Automatic!

What can I say about it....

2.7L V6, Fuel injection and 144 HP, 3-speed automatic gearbox, sunshine roof, brown interior & leather seats.
And its pretty quick too!
But there's a small problem..... The fuel consumption

That's one tank of fuel.

But it's such a nice car to drive, the suspension is comfortable, the gearbox is smoothly changing gears and the seats are so nice!
And there's NO rust! (these cars rust alot)

Ouch on that economy, good job getting the car though looks good for a 1980, I'm sure you can get that down a bit with some modification and a good servicing.

How can a car be so wasteful? My 21 year-old super-economic V12 tank gets better mileage.

And its the last ever rear wheel drive peugeot, and its nearly the same engine used in the DeLorean :)

That might be a real bad understatement

Cor, that's some epic fuel consumption, I've seen PRV engined XMs showing much better figures. You must really have a lead foot. :P

That aside, fantastic car. Not a lot of these around anymore anywhere.

To give you guys an idea how bad that is, that's pretty damn close to what my Mustang actually gets :P

If I'm careful, and shift into 5th (Overdrive, though with a 4.10 rear axle), I can get 11 on the highway. City, I'm lucky to get 6, and if I get on it hard, that 1150 cfm carb can most certainly empty the fuel cell in a couple mins (22 gallon tank). I probably won't cover 22 miles during that time unless you count the coasting from near enough 200 mph.

Seriously I think something is broken or at least not quite right with the engine, even though is a thirsty engine/gearbox combination it's shouldn't be THAT thirsty.

Here you can see a 604 Ti (it's not mine), but it has the same interior and the same engine :)

Good lord.

Worst I've ever got in my Mustang was an indicated 7 MPG during a particularly brutal run to Taco Bell during my lunch break (nothing but WOT stoplight-to-stoplight).

Generally I get around 18-20 MPG during normal city driving, and if I drive like a retiree and skip shift from 1-4, I can usually squeeze 22-25 MPG, depending to stoplights/traffic.
