My quarter million mile corolla is nice, but she's about had it every part and system in her has a major problem at this point. I have picked up a base 2000 Hyundai Tiburon 5 speed, 160,000 miles and silver. I've driven her for a week and now putting her in to be serviced for a timing belt as it has a interference engine and the dealer didn't know the service history, but my god she handles like a dream. the materials might not feel as quality as the Toyota but ugh! The performance difference, I'm taking a fuel economy hit from the mid 40's to the low 30's but I'm going to have a huge smile on my face

I've never owned or driven one, but I can confirm that little cars with angry v6s are fun to own

Well that ford deal fell through, I'm now getting a bugeyed 2000 Hyundai Tiburon/Tuscani/Coupe. It will be in my driveway on Thursday. Sadly it's the sportiest car I'll have ever owned but hey Porsche helped with the suspension so there's that.

I was never a fan of these cars, but others seem to like them. Congrats on the new ride!

Keep an eye on the oil level on these. Check them more regularly than you usually would with other cars. They have an annoying habit of sitting on "full" for the longest time and then plummet to below low. The accents had the same issue. Guess the best way to describe it is like a fuel gauge that sits on half full for ages and then drops to empty in no time.
Just a heads up

From my pre winter full wash and wax, all my past cars have been super boxy, but I've totally fallen for her curves. My only issue is trying to see past her hips in the side mirrors

Note to self, Tiburons do not handle snow like corollas, in fact they absolutely suck in it.

Happened on the ride into work this morning at 5:15am working until 7:30pm then go to the police station to fill out a report, as I slid into a guardrail and ripped my front licence plate off, along with the entire turn signal assembly. At least she still drives and the air bags didn't deploy.
It was my first time driving this one in the snow, my 1992 corolla spoiled me I guess, had it for 9 years through out new england, it was a total tank, never gave me a hint of trouble. This one however, I hit a patch of snow in a straight line, the back ends comes loose and swings around, I slid nose first against a flexible wire guard rail on the left side of the road at 40mph, bump back onto the road and slid across to the right hand shoulder.

Ouch, it's painful to see a car in that condition. Did she have a set of snow tyres?
