2011 Silverado

My 2011 Silverado 1500 Texas Edition. I opted for the 6.2 V8 but I went for the 5.3 because I couldn't afford the gas being a broke student and all! She's stock for now but I'm looking forward to adding a mild tune and maybe some transmission tuning but nothing too extreme because it's still a pickup. Oh and she's finally paid off :D

Re: 2011 Silverado

Funny how you say you had to take the 5.3 over the 6.2 because of the cost of buying gas... over here we drive 1.4 or 1.1 engines to get a decent mileage to the gallon because the prices for gas are absurd here! :P

Correct me if I'm wrong but is gas sold by the liter there? But yes I get around 22-23 mpg, not too bad for 5,700 lbs haha

Current gas prices here are around $3.25 :D lower than most of the country

Re: 2011 Silverado

Yeah its in Liters and as Maurice said, 1.69 is cheap... 1.75 euro per liter is about the average.
I Always go to Belgium, where its like 1.47 - 1.53 euro per liter. (Euro 95)

Re: 2011 Silverado

You get better MPG than me... and I find it weird you get better MPG than my dad's truck (2011 Silverado Crew Cab with the 4.8L V8) and all his miles are highway. Amazing what the next gen pickups are going to do...

Well I believe those 4.8s don't come with the cylinder deactivation and variable cam timing like the 5.3 haha

Yep not bad, my 6.6 Duramax with the max tune gets 16mpg, if I switch to Economy(lol) it gets 21mpg. My Corolla gets 32mpg. BTW Thats a nice Chevy, up here we get the Cheyenne edition which looks similar.

That's not too bad for a duramax, my dad's 2007.5 5.9 cummins can get 21-22 on the highway with the stock tune. Thank ya sir I didn't know y'all got the Cheyenne? I assumed it was only in Mexico.

Actually it's not that bad at all! My insurance company has a thing that if you send them your transcript and you're making good grades they give you a big discount.

Yep we got it up here too, and those Cummins are great engines, I had a 1999 Cummins before the duramax, hit 600,000kms before the rust killed her. If you missed my "Rides" thread heres my GMC Image
