Audi S6 4.2 V8

Here's my Audi S6 C5 4.2 V8:)

Engine (ANK) produces 340PS and 420Nm, and works with automatic transmission (5-speed Tiptronic). The most awesome thing in this car is a four wheel drive, called Quattro :) Fortunately with Torsen :)
I've bought this Audi in december 2013.

This month (I hope) I'm going to buy summer tyres, and maybe 19' rims ;)

Re: Audi S6 4.2 V8

Car was manufactured in 2000. But when I bought this car, engine was in bad condition, so I decided to change engine. AQJ was replaced with ANK engine (from year 2002).
ANK is better version of AQJ - same power, same torque. The best advantage of ANK, is that ANK has no problems with rod cracking (what was typical ailment of AQJ engines) :)

That car is awesome! Audi really did a good job on the S6.

Yeah, I like the S6, past and present. The only wagon I'd want more is the CTS-V wagon.

If I'm honest, I would own the Audi because I like the design style. It looks like your everyday family car, but then some guy revs up next to you at a stop light... The rest is a police report.

I actually prefer the style of the Caddy. The front end is amazing. Also, the engine noise is incredible.

Re: Audi S6 4.2 V8

Well yes, thanks to the LSA under the hood. I do like the Cadillac, don't get me wrong, but the Audi looks like it could be turned into one amazing sleeper. ;)

I would add the Nissan Stagea to that list, but I used to work for a importer and drove a few s6 wagons, that leather is even softer then it looks and the 4.2 makes a great noise wide open, plus the steering is spot on heavy but smooth with good feedback. I am very jealous :)

Re: Audi S6 4.2 V8

If you want a sleeper, try a ford flex sho  Mommy, why is that S2000 behind us? Plus, there are a bunch of videos of them with Bama tunes outrunning Camaro SS's... very humiliating.

Personally, I would take the S6 though. It would far out corner the Flex, and would be a little slower than one of those tuned ones in a straight line. That year of them probably costs the same as a new Flex SHO too.

Re: Audi S6 4.2 V8

That must be embarrassing!

Before the race:
"What cha got, Soccer Mom?"

After the race:
"I missed a shift..."

Do you have any plans to tune it, jbajak?

Re: Audi S6 4.2 V8

I'd be very curious to see a drag between this and a stock SHO and a Bama SHO. They should be fairly close.
For reference, this is a Flex. The SHO (Super High Output) has the 365 HP twin turbo V6 ecoboost, like what is in the F150, the Taurus, and most other, bigger Fords.

Re: Audi S6 4.2 V8

it's nice to hear that you like my car :) Thank you :)

SamSheepDoq wrote:Do you have any plans to tune it, jbajak?

At the moment, I'm not thinking about any modifications :) But it's not easy to say what will future show :)
My previous car is Mazda 323F BA. Currently, Mazda is my second car. I bought Mazda 3,5 years ago, with 2.0 (KF) V6 24V (144PS, 179Nm) engine. After a year I changed engine to 2.5 (KL-ZE) V6 24V. With custom ECU, cold air intake and 6-2-1 2,25' exhaust I've got something around 200PS and 250Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100km/h takes around 5,8 seconds :) Also, transmission was changed to hybrid (first 4 gears was shorter, but 5th gear was longer for economy reasons). Other modifications: Exedy clutch, short shifter, bigger brakes. All of these operations absorbed a lot of time and money. That's why nowadays I'm not thinking about modifications with the same enthusiasm as 2..3 years ago. It's much cheaper to buy fast car in-stock, than building fast car from scratch :) But, I'm not saying 'no' :) Audi S6 C5 with custom exhaust can get additinal 20PS and 10Nm. Maybe in future....... :)
