And a shiny pic to show just how much work went into moving the engine + box, lots further forward, a touch higher up, different mounting angle, transaxle casing modded so it could go nose-down....

New dashboard, needs a little tidying up and a brushed finish after the instruments are in but basically done:

And the only place Ed could find big enough for the airbox...

Will be drawing from the main airbox fed through the roof initially, just for simplicity and time saving - but at some point will probably have it's own feed from the side intakes.

Thats one goregus exhaust system you'v made your self there - pardon me if you'v mentioned it, iv only had a skim as theres alot to look throught - how did you claculate the length and bore of the headers if you dont mind me asking?

Re: My daily and the weekend toy - warning, get coffee. And

The bore is roughly worked back from keeping the average gas flow speed to a reasonable level, then the rough lengths for placing the harmonics worked back from harmonic pipe theory, then the bore altered to suit that and the bends required (which obviously alter the gas speed) then the length tweaked....it's kinda an iterative process but you get close enough for us after 3-4 iterations. The whole thing was then checked with some welding rod to make sure we could get all the lengths right at those diameters without hitting one pipe with another, then made up following it.#
Final pipe lengths were checked using the high tech method of a rope with knots in fed up the middle of the tubes, then the volumes checked by filling them with water, we ended up within +-1mm of each other in length, and ~2% in volume.

Dash nearly sorted apart from a rub down and brushed finishing:

Re: My daily and the weekend toy - warning, get coffee. And

Okay, pulling out the stops now, rear driveshaft angle was on the limits and we weren't all that happy with it - it would work, but I think it would wear rather rapidly.....anyway, since we've gone to this much effort with everything else, today we bit the bullet, the rear arms have been ripped off and I have a desk full of shiny billet things....

You know how I said the dry sump tank had to go in a really bad place because there was nowhere else for it?
Well, here's praying we don't get too much of a love-tap up the arse:

Ed had fun making it though:
