Here's my newest addition, an Alfa Romeo 33 1.7ie 16V

Hey guys,

I've been gone for a while, but i'm back.
And hopefully longer this time.

Anyway.......let's get back to the car business, shall we?

So let me introduce my newest addition (since 06/23/2012), a black 1994 Alfa 33 1.7ie 16V.

When i bought her, there we're some small electronic issues.
But those are fixed, incl. a correctly functioning rpm-gauge.

I also had contact with the historic Alfa Romeo archives, and they gave me the following response:

Dear Mister Kuiper,

with reference to your request we are informing you as follows.

According to our documentation files, the chassis number ZAR 907000******** originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo 33 16v Deinquinata, manufactured on the 10th March 1994 and sold on the 12th April 1994 in Holland.

No further information available.

Yours, Sincerely, Marco Fazio.

The following are on the to-do list:

Exterior:

Mounting an original rear spoiler.
A fresh new black paintjob.
15" Ronal A1 wheels (have to restore those first).
Lowering it a bit.

Interior:

New black carpet, since the oiginal is a bit worn near the clutchpedal.
Exchange roof lining, since the original has turned brownish yellow (ex-smokers car).
Nardi steeringwheel + shift knob.
Recaro interior (if i can find one ofcourse).

I love Alfa's. Too bad I'll probably never own one.

Yeah......it's truly a shame for you guys in the US..
Even the US come-back of the brand is taking a long time, all thanks to Sergio Marchionne.

Anyway......if you ever can get your hands on one, don't hesitate.
These cars are a blast to drive, incl. the good old GTV6.

I've actually driven a few Alfa's already, A 1971 2000 GT Veloce, a 1975 Montreal, and a 1993 Type 4 2000 Spider. I loved them, but the one I really want is a Brera Italia Independent (3.2l V6 AWD). There is just something about that car that just ticks all the right boxes. Unfortunately due to the difficulty of finding parts for them In the US I will never own one unless I win the lottery or something.
