crazy backyard tuners.
So one of the engineers in the company I work for is a backyard mechanic, amateur fabricator and general gearhead. His passion is 80's to 90's volvos I was talking with him today as I saw his normal car wasn't in the lot. I thought you folks would enjoy the conversation that ensued.
"Where's the 740?"
"it's off the road this week, I'm going to repower it now that the 5 speed came in" (it's been a "3 speed" auto since he bought it, the last owner having lost fourth and never bothered to fix it)
"Cool new redblock?"
"Yeah I found a 2.5 liter"
"Nice, going dual cam yet?"
"Naw, going to stick with the single for simplicity, it can make more then enough power just turn up the boost, the air will find find it's way to the cylinders."
Anyone else know someone like this
