Learn how cars work

This is a youtube channel I've just found and I think most gear heads in here will like it. It explains how every little bit of a car works and has some math to prove it.

Wasn't as good as I had hoped (watched How Weight Affects Acceleration - English Units only).
That one can be approached in, IMO, a simpler more instructive manner, not using the concept of torque but power.

Take the average power the car creates in the interval you would drive it hard in.
If the maximum is 120 kW, then say... 100 kW average.
You have the weight of the car, m.

What energy does the car have when driving 100 km/h? 0.5*m*v^2
With 100 kW = 100 kJ/s, how long does it take to produce 0.5*m*v^2 Joule?

Calculate that and you have the very rough answer that isn't considering air resistance.

KillRob do you have a phD in Maths or something?

In experimental nuclear physics, yes. I'm not good at maths though.

Some say he can spot a UI-misalignment of 1-Pixel out of 951.29m distance, but all we know is, he is not the Stig, but the Stigs german experimental nuclear physics cousin.
But people should know that :P

B2T: I know this channel actually... but some things this guy explains seem weird and not really correct sometimes.

ROFL, always a good time for a Top Gear reference.
