MPFI Quality Slider & Fuel Octane Requirement

I'm just wondering why fuel octane requirement stops decreasing after I reached +3 Quality Slider on MPFI? Going further will only improve reliability, whereas in Direct Injection, fuel octane requirement keeps decreasing with quality slider increase.

That depends on what year you are in. MPFI stops developing at some point where additional quality (effectively advancing year) stops having an effect. DI is considered to continue development. Same happens to carbs and stuff, but much earlier on of course.
