How do you save properly?

How do you save properly?

I try to make a new trim to save, doesn't save and then I lose hours of work. Please help.
If there was a traditional save button, that would be worlds better. This is very frustrating, losing tunes so many times, ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Today was a waste.
Shaving seconds takes hours.

Re: How do you save properly?

It is an autosave in the game. The best bet is to go back to the results page before exiting the game (or closing the car). It's supposed to save after every change, but that doesn't always seem to be the case. This is the only advice I have for you. I have only lost a couple of cars since the latest patch, so it seems to be working for me. The trickiest part is getting names to save correctly.

If you are curious about your car being saved, you can always look for the files in "Documents\My Games\Automation\" to see if they are present. There should be 4 files for each car. If the files are present, then the car is saved. If they are not, try going to the results page again and recheck. The 4 locations are:

Automation\Cars\Models
Automation\Cars\Trims
Automation\Engines\Families
Automation\Engines\Variants

Something else to consider is how to actually make new trims for your car. You have to duplicate an existing trim for that model. Simply renaming the trim without this critical step will only overwrite the current trim. The same thing is true of Engine Variants. Currently you cannot duplicate Car Models or Engine Families.

Re: How do you save properly?

Also, for the time being, don't change years when you do different trims. Keep it simple (one lineup per year) and it should save just fine.
