Whenever I have tried to open my game it starts loading and then comes up with an error

[string "--client\start scripts\init.lua..."]:684: attempt to index global 'CScenariolntro' (a nil value)

This is the error it gives me two options retry or cancel
retry brings up the same error and cancel closes the program

Any ideas?? I just downloaded the program today I hope I didn't waste my money on this.

First off switch to windowed mode, either regular or borderless, this prevents the game from closing on every LUA error, try that and see if you can get it to start. This is a known issue with the current game engine that any LUA error while in fullscreen mode crashes the game, better off just windowing it and making it 1900x1000 (as in my case instead of 1920x1080).

I tried windowing it and i put it on the lowest resolution and it does the same thing

What is your OS and have you had Steam validate the files?

OS is windows 8.1 and i didn't have steam validate i just downloaded from automation
