insane air flow needed +

I have noticed that if you try to create a super car with 1000 HP+ a couple things seem off.
The amount of grill/vents needed are insane. I created a 1,200 HP engine and the whole front of the car and hood had to be vents and grills. I couldn't even put headlights on it.
Mid engine? Forget about it, you'll never fit a large V8 in it. I have squeezed in a 580 HP engine so far.

On a different note, if I minimize the game (alt-tab) it will not come back on screen right. I am running Win7 64

Overall, great game. Looking forward to the business aspects being added.

I can't say much about the air flow thing, but I think I have a solution for your minimizing problem. When launching the game from Steam, open the "Options" tab and select "Borderless Window", that should let you minimize and then keep working on the game.

Thanks for the tip. I haven't switched to steam yet. Are they only updating to steam now? I noticed my version doesn't have trucks or vans in it.

They will update the stand alone version, when the major bugs have been eradicated. ;)

You can fit decent engines amidships. My fave so far has a 530KW 6.0L V8 with direct injection longitudinal, rear drive (cooling issues if I try my 560 or 600KW)

Well, if you're building 1200hp motors for cars, you're just going to have to deal with needing a lot of cooling.

E30 M3 LS7 is a good example of a car being adapted to the enormous cooling requirements of a 1200+ hp motor. You can also get plenty of cooling on mid-engine cars too, if you are creative. Cooling requirements are a natural requirement of horsepower increases, in Automation, and in the real world.

Large engines will fit in some mid/rear setups, but you probably won't get AWD with them if you try to fit the biggest thing you can find in the bay. There is only so much space available. If you're using the smaller M/R bodies, you will run into problems. The game aims to be realistic, and this is a real world limitation.

Updates will be coming to the standalone version of the game soon :)

Also, all of the airflow calculations have been balanced pretty well, so I would doubt that anything is wrong with them.

Lastly, I've built 800+ hp mid engine cars, and the engine isn't fully exploited yet.

Useone of my grilles: the cooling multiplicator is 1.0 or 1.2: Only with a pair of vents (non-mclaren 650s) you can reach +1000KJ/s).

How to shoot one's own feet, presented by vmo.

With that you disqualified yourself and your fixtures from any competition. It IS cheating - you get more cooling while using less area, potentially giving you the advantage of putting more powerful engines into tiny cars that dont ovvr a lot of room for vents/grilles.

Only in some grilles.
