fatal steam error

i open up automation for the first time and get this
i tried something but to no avail

Close steam through task manager, try restarting your computer if that doesn't work.

That is really weird. You did have online connectivity at the time of starting I assume?
We will look into this once the sun is up in Kiwiland again. If you find a solution in the meantime, please post it here.

Someone else had a similar issue. It was caused by his Steam being out of date.
In Steam, Click Steam in the Title/Menu Bar -> Check For Steam Client Updates.
