Cars: A Birel Go Kart. I can't remember the full chassis name. 4-stroke, Honda GX160, makes around 5-hp (With limiter)

Is this bad?

I searched up my company up on Google (Just for fun) and It seems there was already a real life carbon automotive. But it has been defunct since 2013. Should I change my company? :?

Re: Is this bad?

As long as you don't intend to acquire money or other possessions/services through your use of the name it should be alright.

Re: Is this bad?

It still seems like I got the name from that company. I want something original, not based off of anything.

Re: Is this bad?

Change it if you want then, but if you want it to be completely original then it's your job to pick a cool name.

I usually just think of an uncommon synonym for words like "cool" "strong" stuff like that. For example mine is Titan Motors. Things you usually think of when you hear the word Titan are things that are strong, tough, long lasting, stuff like that.

Re: Is this bad?

@supraman yeah lol I saw Titan motorsports literally like 5 minutes after deciding the name.

@speedemon it sounds like the name of a company that produces high tech cutting edge hypercars. If that's you're type of company then I say go for it, but ultimately it's up to you.

Re: Is this bad?

I spent a lot of time to create my company name, right onto the point I gave up and used my surname instead :)

I am not a fan of the name plasma, it is a little bit vague. Reminds me of early 00s televisions actually and perhaps a tad uninspired.

But don't care too much for my feedback, I'm too critical and perfectionist, hence the problem I had with my own company.

Dunno, I think it sounds like something to do with blood transfusions.

Maybe think about your company's history first and then relate a name to the history? How was your company formed? Where? What makes it different to all the other automation companies that "produce everything from hatchbacks to supercars that are cheap, reliable, luxurious and high performance?" What are your company's values and what kind of cars will they produce?

I came up with my name because of my company's "history" of being formed from excess fighter aircraft engineers after WW2 and aircraft test pilots remember seeing aurora's when they were flying at night. It also makes for a cool stock ticker symbol (if there was one), eg NYSE:AURA/LSE:AURA

But try to avoid changing your name too often; it means you can't build up your company's backstory and heritage. You can always make up history and heritage of course, but something has to be said for simply existing for a long time on the forum; for example several months ago Centauri (nialloftara) decided they would dabble in the luxury market, Hyundai Genesis style, which would mean their cars began compete with mine. This then builds up a bit of a story and makes any comparison that features a high end Centauri and one of my cars a bit more interesting. Well not necessarily, but the potential is there.

On the other hand, sometimes the first thing you think of isn't the best. I was going to use "Driving Innovation" as my first tagline for a mainstream manufacturer, but boyercam beat me to it, so I went with "Nothing comes close" and have built my company around that and pushed it upmarket which I now like more.

Don't worry about it. My company's name comes form Mass Effect. I even had car called the SR2. The game had a ship called the Normandy SR2. Bioware or EA haven't kicked down my door yet. You'll be fine.

In point of fact, my avatar is from Mass Effect as well.

I have thought about the name and I thought of a good one: Phenomenon Motors.

Phenom Motors sounds better. Means basically the same thing, and rolls off the tongue better.

Re: Is this bad?

I'm not keen on those names. The first is too long, the other is an AMD processor.

I can see that you are trying to get inspiration from nature. Have you tried looking for these words on other languages? They could perhaps sound better.

And Vos, Normandy is a province in France and it has been for way longer than the game where you found the name.

Ok.. Seishido is a Japanese word mashup, it's a mix of: Precision, Quality, and our little secret ingredient ;)
But i found out... that if you swapped a few letters you got a famous makeup company...
CEO of Seishido Motors.
