LUA file error when in sandbox car editor

Over the past day or two the reliability of my copy of Automation has really tanked. Most of these have been video driver errors generated by the OS, but this one was a LUA error generated by the program itself.

---------------------------
Lua Error:
---------------------------
tolua++ dbcall failed!: [string "--client\functional\EngineCombustion_Animatio..."]:294: bad argument #1 to 'rad' (number expected, got nil)

You can CTRL+C on this to report it.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

How I got this: I was designing a car in 2003 (yes, for DerBayer's new challenge) and finished up with the body. I started making an engine then realized I could save time and make things "Flow" with my car company's timeline by picking an already saved engine and then bringing it up to date. Well, when I selected this engine (which happened to be build in 1968) then went back to the engine tab to enter it, it flipped out, gave that error (about fifty times), and crashed.

How old was the engine file? I've had a bunch of issues loading engines from the b1256 era. Also you might want to post the engine file so they can test it.

I'm so new that the only version I've ever run is B1417.

I re-did things in a different order and can safely say it's because I started building a V8 engine then decided to backtrack and use an existing 6 cylinder design. So I don't think it's the file itself. (and when I say "old engine" I mean build year, not software version)

So you started a new car, began building a engine, then when into the gearbox tab selected a already made engine, then the errors came when switching back to the engine tab?

Precisely.

(and if you were wondering why I went into the engine tab after selecting the engine from the trim tab, it's because the engine I selected had a 1968 build year and I needed to bring it up to snuff for Der Bayer's 2003 CTC challenge)

Hmm, sounds like a bug that needs addressing, better copy the OP and step by step description to the bug reporting thread.

I also got a similar error when trying to open a car:

Did the 1960's engine have Bypass Valves? There's a common bug that relates to this.

Negatory. I haven't have ever used bypass valves. Ever.

I am now getting this error when I press the back button on the Platforms menu every time:
---------------------------
Lua Error:
---------------------------
tolua++ dbcall failed!: [string "--client\functional\CCarManager.lua..."]:265: attempt to concatenate local 'fileName' (a nil value)

You can CTRL+C on this to report it.
