Car lusing weight when engine is knocking

So I was playing around with numbers for one forum challenge, and suddenly I realized that the fastest revision had a knocking engine
After playing around with compression and fuel mixture I found out that when engine starts knocking the car suddenly loses about 20kg, even more with more octane rating over the limit (but lap times were worse)

I am running build 1417. I assume this is a bug. Where should I send LUA files?

Some part weights of the car scale with engine torque (gearbox) and cooling needed (radiators). If the engine knocks, both of these values are lower than if it does not.

That the laptime was faster in your case is just cause by that. Probably the car had other limiting factors (such as grip, it's RWD) and could not use the extra power of the non-knocking version.

Thanks, yes its RWD and I'm not an expert tuner, I only have a rough idea what should do what and then its just clickfest and trial&error
That should explain it, I thought these things were not tied to engine torque and required cooling but only to selected parts (gearbox type & number of gears & quality for gearbox, effective cooling area & quality (& maybe engine size) for radiator). Good job making it so complex and thought out, this game is slowly making a petrolhead out of me and already taught me quite a lot, both directly and indirectly and I'm excited for coming additions

Just tried to reduce boost to get the same power and got the same weight as the knocking engine, and even better lap times. Thanks!
