All 3 supercars have a similar problem. They all do not support big engines. I can fit a V8 and a Inline 4, but it has to be the smallest size for the game to accept it. They won't "fit" a Inline 6 at smallest size.

With a V8 in a Small 10s Supercar, I only managed it to get up to 370 BHP and 240 LB-FT Torque on a Crossplane V8 (With Turbocharger).

^That is the biggest size I can make with a V8 for it to accept. Any bigger and it will say "Engine size too big"

Well, the small one is quite small. Placement also matters, transverse v. longitudinal. On the larger one, you can comfortably fit large V8s.

To my experience you can easily fit a 7 litre engine in the large supercar (which is realistic I'd say) in longitudinal, and a little bit smaller than 4 litre V8 in transverse position on the small "supercar".
Also please note that AWD reduces the max engine size.

I'd like to see the supercars point the transmission to the front towards a center differential that splits to front and back axles allowing a bigger engine.
The engine would have to sit above the axle though.

Yes it is... but that's rear mounted engines then, i.e. NOT mid-engined and thus not in the game yet.

Maybe the layout of later v12 Lambos and Bugatti Veyron?

From the front: front diff, shaft, transferbox, gearbox, engine, rear diff.
This will put the gearbox between the seats/under the body.

I'm not looking to build anything practical. Let me say that now.

But, IF the game is going to humor me and let me build a 10 liter beast of a V8, I would very much so like something to put it in.

I don't get you people :s You already can! Even into the tiny golf body you can fit an NA 10.9L DOHC V8. So where is the problem exactly? Doesn't that humor you enough?

I'm actually now having the same issue as DKR27. I have a mid-mounted AWD setup with the larger supercar body:



But just as DK said, the game is forcing me into a very tiny engine, even with a 4-cyl:



The smaller version body has the same issue for me, as well. Neither will accept above about 1220cc.

I have a 8.6 turbo v8 in the big body, as for the small it's more a lotus evora type will be good with v6's as it is you can get a 3-4 liter v8 in them though it takes some work just remember wishbone and awd take away from engine room.

Large mid-engine body with Longitudinal AWD and an OHV DI throttle-per-cylinder 3.99L engine sitting under the body. It has Macpherson Strut F/R.




I really do believe I could fit a bigger engine, however, my 6.2L LS3 engine will NOT fit. At least, not with AWD on it.

With RWD, I could fit the 7.0L LS7 with no problems, using Longitudinal RWD setup in the same body.




There is no tuning on these cars at all. The 7L is completely impossible to drive, but it does fit. (it might be tweakable) The 4L is semi-drivable, but with some tweaking could certainly be a streetable car. It may or may not be possible to fit the 10.8L, I don't know. I don't build engines that large.

Transversely it can (just barely) fit 6,4L turbocharged engine producing over 1500hp AWD, double wishbone F/R, and the stats are really good, far cry from impossible to drive. The only problem is cooling that beast (over 2000kJ/s). Your problem are wheels from a small hatch trying to tame so many horses... (seriously, 185mm for 500hp? You want to kill the driver? )

Well, there was no playing with settings on the actual car. I set up enough cooling to get the reliability over 0 and that's about it. In fact, I didn't even adjust wheel wells to accommodate anything larger than default settings. I was mainly pointing out an engine larger than 2.5L would fit pretty easily in the car, both with and without AWD. And my car isn't slated for entry into any contests. I personally don't fancy the body too much. It just isn't my style. I like muscle cars and GT coupes, not supercars.
