chamber setting feels off: everything but 0.00 results in a reduction on cornering g

It should be working correctly (I just checked).

You might see that happening in this example though: You have an oversteering car and give the car more negative camber at the front axle -> it will oversteer even more -> cornering gets worse. Give it more negative camber at the rear axle and cornering will get better.

This also works the other way around for understeering cars.
