CTD when changing final drive

I'm able to do nearly everything available in the game with no issues, but about 80% of the time when i attempt to change the final drive ratio of a transmission the game just CTDs without any error or warning. Any ideas or is this a known bug that being fixed?

AMD Phenom II X6 1090t
8GB RAM
Asus M4N72-E
PNY GTX650 Ti

The only known bug regarding the final drive is when you choose top speeds of over 350 mph, but that throws an exception (error message).
Does it always happen when you touch the slider, or just in specific cases?

No error messages, and occasionally I'm able to change it with no issue. I've tried changing all other options for the tranny before touching the final drive and the issue persists. I'd say roughly 80% of the time it crashes with no message. Is there some sort of logging system in the game or some 3rd party software I should get to help diagnose this?
