Re: Open Beta (B1352+) Bug Reporting Thread

I have found this error:

Sin título.png
Sin título.png (29.25 KiB) Viewed 4132 times

I have used this engine and body (is a concept car):
-Car:
Montes Muscle Concept - Rev - 0.lua
(20.9 KiB) Downloaded 241 times

-Engine:
5.5L XP 16V OHV conceptRev0.lua
(43.66 KiB) Downloaded 231 times

And you can reproduce the problem making the car with this form:
-rwd, double clutch, 6 gears, 29X KM/H, sportive shifts, semislicks (I think; the last wheels on the list), all wheels with the "maximum" wide (3 clicks minor)...

Re: Open Beta (B1352+) Bug Reporting Thread

A new bug: When I test a car in any track, and the car goes to the top speed, suddenly, the car doesn't sound more, except when you restart (stop and start now the test).
This problem suceed with the 2 old versions and the 1358 version.

Engine designer don't opened properly (only some part was shown) and i wasn't able to use or drag it. I would give picture, but it happens randomly and i can't recreate it at this moment.

Re: Open Beta (B1352+) Bug Reporting Thread

I've noticed that the game has a habit of slowing down if you do a lot of testing / tweaking cycles.
I've been prepping some models for the BRC and the UI responsiveness was becoming sluggish, also the music was starting to slow down.
I checked with task manager and automation was using 18% CPU and apprx half a gig of Memory at the time.
I closed the sandbox and went back to the main menu and the memory and CPU usage did not decrease.
Closing the game re-opening it and leaving it on the menu screen uses about 5% and 300MB memory.
Just wondering if there's a memory leak somewhere.

Yes, there is probably a leak and Caswal knows about that. He couldn't find anything yet though. :(

Re: Open Beta (B1352+) Bug Reporting Thread

Hmm, that in itself is interesting though! I'm no expert, but that sounds more like threads not being closed than a pure memory leak, otherwise CPU load would probably be the same in both cases. I'll ask Cas about this again tomorrow.

Re: Open Beta (B1352+) Bug Reporting Thread

I can pretty much say I've had the same issues as maffc, though I think I noticed it more as I kept testing on different tracks rather than a bunch of basic car stat testing. That may be helpful in trying to pinpoint the runaway threads... I hope.

That happens when you move the Automation window while the game is loading. Known bug that won't be fixed any time soon though, not a very high priority right now. :)

That doesn't give the error for us, when exactly does it crash for you?

This error is with the 1357 version: look to config the car, and start the test in the track.

Do you still get the error in b1360?

Re: Open Beta (B1352+) Bug Reporting Thread

I've found a minor saving bug in 1360 with the engines. It may have been in previous builds and I just haven't noticed it. I suspect its probably a rounding error in the saving process

I have an I6 engine with a 59.4mm stroke and 80.2mm bore. When I test it the engine is listed as 1800cc. When I save and then reload it the engine saves as 1801cc, yet the stroke is still listed as 59.4mm. Clicking the up arrow once on the stroke increases the stroke to 59.6mm and the capacity to 1802cc. moving the slider back down to 59.4 with two clicks gets the cc back to 1800cc, but the problem still happens when you save.

ps. This is one of the engines I might be entering to the BRC. Will I be disqualified if the turbo engine is 1801cc due to a bug when saving?
