it only happens when i try to edit car trims precisely when i click on which type of transmission i want

Probably useful to copy+paste the error or screenshot it and include it with the post. LUA files compose most of the game which means there will be many types of LUA errors. The devs (and us) need to know the specific error to determine the cause of the error. Including a dxdiag is good though!
