Engine sounds.

So i started wondering, will the engines sounds vary depending how powerful the engine is? Example: You have I4 1.4lt ohc engine, has about 80bhp and is true ecobox. And then you have this I4 2.0l DOHC almost full race spec engine, aggressive cams etc. Giving 240bhp at wheels, not giving a sh*t about emissions. Will they sound the same?

Re: Engine sounds.

We're working with some guys about this at the moment.

We aim to have the engine sound change based on how agressive the cams are, what the cylinder count/crank layout is, exhaust & intake.

Hopefully this will provide a wide range of sounds, we shall see!

Re: Engine sounds.

Wow, nice! I was thinking about it when i came home from school. And started wondering that it would be a bit stupid to have race spec I4 and sounds like an ecobox. :D

I like the way a fully tuned (level 3 for all components) Nissan 350z sounds on Need for Speed Underground 2 :D

Re: Engine sounds.

Please good V-8 noises. So far most auto games don't have a good realistic V-8 noise. On a random aside are we going to pick what kind of exhaust a car has. Dual, single, H or 8 pipe crossover ETC?

Re: Engine sounds.

To be honest ... The sounds of NFS:U2 is very very generic.

What about visiting our IRC to talk to many car enthusiast?

That sounds pretty brutal! From what samples I have heard till now I can tell you that the sounds indeed are going to be really good. :)
