NEXT UPDATE: What about year restrictions ?

So in the last Killrob's dev update and in various forum posts, there has been talk about changing body styles, fixtures and possibly flares in the trim step, but will the year get more flexibility as well ? Right now the year is locked as early as the fixture tab, so I looked like a birk with my big 1984 offroader that was only available with RWD*.
Is it possible the have different trims on differnt years, different engine versions on different years, older engines on newer cars (and vice versa), and generally more flexibility ?

Also, smaller bodies are in dire need of a longitudinal FWD setup.

Thanks very much for this amazing game !

*I know it's a pet peeve of mine but the year of unlock of 4WD is way too late, especially now that we have 80's offroader bodies, without means to adjust R&D in sandbox mode, 4WD should be made availible at most the same year of the first offroad body (even if personnally I'd say 1969 is the maximum).
Likewise, the 3 gear gearbox limit in the forties was cute back when we only had that Morris Minor, but for the two bigger bodies, being lower-tech than a 2CV is quite the comedown.

Re: NEXT UPDATE: What about year restrictions ?

The current AWD layout is a full time AWD layout as used in Audis, Subarus and a lot of modern SUVs/Crossovers.

IIRC they plan on adding selectable 4WD at some point and make that available very early in the timeline.

Longitudinal FWD is also planned.
