Re: vvl v-tec

VTEC is in the game already, you get it when you combine VVT and VVL.

Re: vvl v-tec

wait, gen1 VTEC is technicly just valve lift, so VVL..

gen2 VTEC isn't present at all, because at low RPM it goes on 3 valves, high RPM has a performance camshaft technicly

finaly gen3 would be VVT and VVL combined

correct me if i'm wrong

Re: vvl v-tec

That vtec e system with 3 stage cam phasing is impossible in game atm. It allows one intake valve to open fully bit only partially opens the second valve at low speed low throttle.

Re: vvl v-tec

there are 2 VTEC-E possible, 1gen with 3valve at low RPM and normal at higher RPM, 2gen as mentioned above

that's pretty much pointless to have imho, as it is specific and only Honda uses it

Re: vvl v-tec

So, its only VTEC here. Im not 100% up to date and knowledgable on this, but if this is about VTEC, its very specific to just Honda. How many other brands have done it exactly the same way or something that looks very similar to this? If more than 10, its something the devs should consider, if not, its basically the same reason Killrob explained in the video with Diesels, LPG and Hybrid engines and their market share.

Re: vvl v-tec

The original post was how to make Honda's vtec system which is a combination of vvl and vvt in game, however the special 3 stage vtec system thst was mentioned is not possible in game.

Re: vvl v-tec

I don't think so as mine goes over 9000 8-) but I honestly have no idea, I found it on this page. http://superbuzzonline.blogspot.com/2013/07/tachometer-plus-1-more.html?m=1

Re: vvl v-tec

Couldn't find anything. Still looks a lot like it.

Back on topic : I don't think we should add the missing V-TEC. We have everything needed.
Still, the company use requirement isn't exactly the right one.
I see nothing but one company regularly using flat-6s, but it covers a great part of the market.
You see what I mean ? :P

Re: vvl v-tec

It's down to micromanaging the engine more so then who does it. It would be fun but if anything was to be added id much prefer a continuious variable valve timing system like valvetronic or valvematic. Anyway I think the op's been pretty well answered as to recreating the effects of v-tec

Re: vvl v-tec

BMW has something called VANOS, i'm not sure if it is similar to the I-VTEC system or if it works differently.

Re: vvl v-tec

ffs.. is anyone reading my posts?

VANOS - nothing but VVT, corrects timing, thats about it..

and still the only thing missing in this game is VTEC-E, a.k.a. 12 valve mode on a 16 valve engine

every other combination gives you proper VTEC, well, sort of..

just VVL is technicly VTEC

VVT+VVL is iVTEC with timing and lift, like Honda K series engine
