File Structure

Is the current file structure for our saved items going to be the final one?
The reason I ask is I found a way to inadvertently overwrite a model.
I created a platform "Mirage" set in 1978 and created a model called Mirage 1.3L
I then revised the platform set in 1982 to give it a face light (square lights and other 80's trappings) and saved it as Mirage 1982, however I created the updated 1.3L model from that platform and called it Mirage 1.3L (same as the 1978 version) and oh no! the 1978 version was overwritten. :o

I was wondering if perhaps models should be subfolders of the parent platform folder, but then I thought what happens to those models if I overwrite the platform.

OMG where did all these worms come from, where the can gone....

So you named a model 1.3L and another model 1.3L basically. That's why. Maybe try naming cars to include the year in them (so 1978 Mirage 1.3L and 1982 Mirage 1.3L).

I did, but given the GUI filters models by platforms I forgot the files weren't structured like that and it seems somewhat clunky to have to reference the platform name, year, engine and trim in the model name. Sometimes I run out of room.

Maybe you could develop a system to shorten the name? So 78 M1.3 and 82 M1.3 in this case. Or whatever you'd like. I know what you mean though, but I just ignore if I run off the GUI with my names, but that's just me.

Still an interesting matter for the devs to look into though!
