Re: Model Sculpting With Fixtures

No, that will not happen any time soon, probably will never be a thing as it is technically very challenging to implement.

Re: Model Sculpting With Fixtures

Last question: Yes, you can. Just revise the current model, change some fixtures and save it with a different name like CarV2 or something like that.
I believe the devs were looking into making it possible to copy fixture presets (so the sizes and such) into groups so you can load them for your next model, but I'm not sure that is still going to be there.

Re: Model Sculpting With Fixtures

Well, theres a big difference (technical wise for the game developers) transforming a car with all the fixtures still on the car attached, or saving rotation and size of the fixture to a group and then replace them with the correct angle and size (but still having to drag them in place). This way you can get kind of the same stuff on there, but still have to drag them on.

!!!THIS IS JUST AN UNCONFIRMED RUMOR THOUGH!!! Im not saying this will be in, but the devs are investigating what is the best way to do such thing

Re: Model Sculpting With Fixtures

It will work this way:

1) make platform and choose family members (i.e. models) from various family members of one body shape
2) deform your first family member the way you want
3) put on all the fixtures, these are saved as templates (if we can get that to work)
4) finish designing the first model ("the prime family member")

5) deform the other family members the way you like and/or add new ones
6) use the fixture templates from the prime member to speed up designing the models

Re: Model Sculpting With Fixtures

Thanks for pointing it out stepwise, KillRob. This is exactly what I was trying to say :) I hope this clears everything up. I personally can't wait for this feature to be there, as it opens up so much more to designing with 'equal' fixtures.
