On the topic of the Tycoon part and Next Update

Right so.. I spend a lot of time just looking through the various questions that are asked and answered, but there are some I've not seen yet asked. While most have been asking about engine types, diesels and blah blah.

I actually have had my curiosity piqued by things such as the racing headers which are not available for mass production.
During the tycoon part of the game, will there be a function to set a car to a limited production number? Such as releasing a sport version of one of your regular cars, and scheduling it for a short production run.

Also, I imagine it's a straightforward question, but I'd like a direct answer instead of an assumption: Will we be able to cancel production of models at whim? Say you release a sporty/unsporty coupe/hatch and don't get quite the reception you'd like, would you be able to cancel the model instead of further sinking money into the production of it?

I believe this one has been asked before, but will there be a simple way to build a "Next Generation" car to succeed the old version?
---------

As far as next update goes, I'm not going to push for the release date, I'm actually just curious as to what to expect aside from suspension modeling and fuel consumption calculations. Thank you for your time, sorry if I've missed topics that contain these questions.

Re: On the topic of the Tycoon part and Next Update

Tycoon wise, you'll be able to set up production however you like, if you're producing it on more lines and better equipment you'll be able to produce them faster, but if you only want to produce a certain amount a year, or a certain amount then stop making them that would be fine too. Cars will gain more "Prestige" by being expensive and limited run (among many other things)

Of course you can cancel production. You'll take a pretty big financial hit from having invested in R&D and tooling etc. but if that's what makes business sense then sure.

Yeah, not 100% sure how next generations of cars will work, but we will make it work :)

Update wise, check out our news post with all the videos, it's mostly just that stuff plus a bunch of bug fixes, some improved engine sound, an extra car body and a few other things.

Re: On the topic of the Tycoon part and Next Update

Will the official soundtrack be implemented in the next update ? What about the previous songs ? Will these be removed ? I think most of us like them.

Also, sorry for the off-topic (didn't want to make a new thread for such a small thing), but is there some "lag" in the "Latest forum posts" part of the website ? It seems to take time to update it, and so we may not see some new topics.
For example, I asked this (viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3197) and I'm still waiting for the answer, while some topics are "overcrowded". Did I do anything wrong ? :D

Anyway, these question were really useful, and it seems that you asked what we would like to know without knowing it ! :)

The old music will not be in the game anymore, no. People get used to it, yes, but it does not represent the game as we envision it, so it needs to go. Our feeling is that people (on average) will start liking the new music much more than they did like the old one. The new soundtrack definitely is of much higher quality and unique (*cough* Cycling Manager 2013 *cough*).

Regarding the other topic I wouldn't know what to answer (apart from: no, there is no spoiler functionality), and probably others think the same as you still don't have an answer. The things you talk about are more directed at the community than us as devs.

That's why I posted it as a suggestion, as it seems to correspond more than Dev Questions. Could spoilers be added though ? Most forums have this functionality, and it's reeeaaally useful. I'm pretty sure others agree with me.

Could we download/rip the old music ? That way we could still listen to it separately.

I'll look into the spoiler functionality, I imagine there is a nice easy PHPBB plugin for it.

You can't legally rip the old music, but you can get it from the stock music place we did - http://www.neosounds.com/royalty-free-m ... vol-1.html :P

Thanks for the link.
Maybe you should ask others about a spoiler option, I'm pretty sure it's needed, especially when it comes to images.
About the downloadable soundtrack : will there be FLAC ? I'm mostly listening to lossless :P
