Is the game being developed, every day?

How many active persons you got working on it?

who gave the idea of the game?

do the developers know each other, personnaly?

This should answer some of your questions.

Caswal and Andrew came up with the idea and are working full-time on it. Together with Robert they choose what will be in the game and what will be not.

You can't just become a beta tester, you might be invited at some point if you are really awesome though.
