To see how much the engine sucks gas or not to be seen in are engine display so you be able how good of engine you make
to see if you made a engine. that is EX 19 in city/29 hwy or 29city/39hwy would be nice to see what really made into the engine you dissing
if is bad or not.

That sort of economy measurement relies on things like aerodynamics too, so this will be part of the model designer, as opposed to in the engine designer (if that's what you meant). You do however get efficiency stats in the engine designer.

Re: would it be nice to put mpg rating system ?

yea..but is not the same you know seeing the results of it's real MPG like 19/29 mpg. is more efficient then 30% efficiency is not accurate enough
the way you put it you know what i mean. because is almost like you guesting the real efficiency of what type of car you just made.

see like 19/29mpg is better then 30% efficiency because now you would know what the real mpg is which
would cover over the 30% you just made before see the picture just like real life .

Re: would it be nice to put mpg rating system ?

GraySteel: it's not practical to get miles per gallon statistics on an engine dyno. The engine isn't going anywhere. ;)

Fuel economy ratings depend entirely on what car the engine is put in. That's why you only get those stats in the model designer, and not the engine designer. Hope this clears things up. I should point out that although the EPA tests cars in a laboratory on a chassis dyno (rolling road), the engines are already installed in the car and they simulate wind resistance.

I guess you are not a native English speaker, because it really look like you can not comprehend what we are trying to tell you.

No mpg in engine designer, but it will be in finished car designer.

Re: would it be nice to put mpg rating system ?

Just to be clear, MPG only applies to cars, and an engine CAN'T have an MPG spec as it doesn't travel anywhere, it doesn't go any miles.

The same engine could get 40mpg if I put it in a very aerodynamic 700kg car, or 5mpg if I put it in a giant 5000kg truck.

The only thing you can say about an engine is how good it is at turning fuel into power, and that's what the efficiency stat tells you, until you know how heavy the car it's going in is, how aerodynamic it is and what it's gearing is there is no way to work out MPG.

Finished cars will have the stat, engines will not.
