Engine placement

What are the possible engine placement & configuration options. Will it be possible to have transverse V6 and V8's(ford Taurus) or inline 3 and 4 engines that are front engine rear drive. Also will it be possible to have an engine in the rear, like the vw bug and corvair or even transverse engines in the rear.
