6 cylinder exhausts

as of now we get 2 exhaust manifolds merging into 1 pipe

is it possible we get 2 manifolds going into 2 pipes?

As in dual exhausts all the way? I'd say not, I don't think I've ever seen an I6 where the 2 manifolds don't merge at some point, even if they do split off into dual exhausts further back.

Re: 6 cylinder exhausts

If i recall correctly, my BMW E21 323 -79 had that, only place they were together was in the front muffler, and that was still two parallel tubes going trough.

But it was almost 20 years ago, could be wrong.

Mercedes Benz M104 on W140 has 2 split cats, BMW E36 325/328 doesn't merge, has 2 small cats

and they even don't merge in the back box, thus having dual pipes coming out

Re: 6 cylinder exhausts

It's true, my Mercedes W126 280SE (I6) also had a dual pipe exhaust, and uses 2 separate pipes trough the mufflers.

Greetz,
