When is SOHC better than OHC?

First, awesome job guys. Even without many options for now, this game is really fun and promising. :D
I am building some engines, using the i4 demo for now, that are basically the same except for the head, compression ratio and ignition timing to make the example simpler. I can't make a engine using SOHC that is better than the same engine using OHC, all of the OHC engines are more economical, a little more powerful, cheaper and take a considerable less time to build.

Those are the engines in question, am I missing something? what sort of circumstances using a two valves SOHC head is better than just OHC?

Thanks

Edit: sorry for the grammar, English is not my first language.

And a screenshot of one of the engines for those who just want a single comparison.

Ok, thanks for the link, but the topic you linked didn't mention their differences and implications in the game. My is question is about each use in the game, since the OHC seems to be better in every aspect besides responsiveness at any sort of engine i tried to build. Small, big, low rev, high rev, all of them (at least for i4 since I am only playing the demo).

SOHC is heavier and cost more, both to manufacture and maintain.

SOHC flows a bit better so you can potentially make more power with it, assuming you don't rev it super hard (where its extra mass will make the valves float)

i've never been able to make more power or economy with SOHC config.

I think the flow of an OHC depends on how much work the maker bothers with.

Aftermarket head for the Volvo B230, used mostly in rally and racing. Some have used it for every day driving.
I don't think a SOHC will flow much more than this will.

P.S. Its a crossflow head, but they had the intake image flipped in the PDF i took it from.
Didn't see until it was posted.

Whoa, those ports are pretty amazingly well designed.

Rallycross car with a EVO head equipped Volvo engine.

Mikuni 48mm flatslide carbs.

Note the gentle radius on the exhaust pipes.
