Revision number

Gameplay wise, what is (going to be) the purpose of the revision number -choice in the engine builder? And is there going to be one in the car designer also?

Re: Revision number

From what I understand of it the revision number is just the version of your engine, kinda like a graphics card, you may purchase V1 and 3 months later there is a firmware upgrade and new fan or something, that new one on sale is the exact same thing but would be considered V2 or revision 2.

Re: Revision number

Yes I do understand what the revision number generally means, but I just wanted to know how exactly this game is going to handle it.

Re: Revision number

Revision numbers are important in the case you are modifying an existing engine: old engines won't magically change just because you redesigned the old one... so in that case you must add a revision number, the old engine continues to exists, albeit maybe not in your active manufacturing. The same goes for cars, of course. This makes things less confusing in the long run we reckon.
