Is it just me or...

... work on game slightly slowed down. I would rather prefer smaller but more frequent updates, but this is just my opinion and i don't know do others users will like it.

Re: Is it just me or...

Maybe you missed it, but the bigger part of the team moved country, which of course means less work on Automation for that time period (roughly 2 weeks). Updates are as frequent as they've always been.

Re: Is it just me or...

Quoting myself from another thread.
As it says in the FAQ, if you are not happy with pledging your money with what is out at the moment, don't preorder. Personally, the amount of hours I have gotten out of this game already makes it a worthwhile investment. The only reason for doing the releases often, as they already seem to be happy with the number of beta testers they have, is to give players more content, which I am guessing is what you want. However, like I said, if you are not happy with the content at the moment, and you don't believe that what is out at the moment is worth your money, follow the FAQ's advice. I would rather not have the devs have to make only one small change per day and then make sure that it works without ruining the rest of the game, or a couple changes a week, and not be able to change big things because they would not be able to make the update and get hate from the people on the forum saying: "I spent my money on this to get weekly updates and you lied and you suck and I want my money back!" (Maybe a dramatization), and instead focus on the important, game changing things that might, indeed, require them to change the game in a game breaking way for a bit; at which point they already know what isn't working, so they got no benefit out of it and got the negative of the wasted time, and you got only the positive of seeing what they are working on, and the negative of not being able to play a functioning, if not completely bug free or content filled, game.

Correct me if I'm wrong :)

Re: Is it just me or...

Just in short; it's better to have larger updates. this way you don't keep on losing engiens, platforms and such which may become uncompatible. Also, it takes extra time and stress on the developers to constantly make releases on a frequent basis. So no, rather put that time into the game than into releasing things earlier.

It's was just small "What if" idea, slown down there. I still think its was best spend money in almost all my life. But i made so much cars (52) with actual settings, that things get slightly boring. Do new update be available in about 4 - 8 weeks?

Re: Is it just me or...

It seems like an update every couple of months to me (2-3). Right now, they are adding new things that completely change the game (a la the stats), so to them, it is more practical to work on them, then make them work with the rest of the game, beta and balancing, open beta, then release.

I think that later on, once the features are done and content is what is being added (a la more engine types, body types, suspension settings), you may get an update every couple of weeks. For now, the most important things are the big things, and minor things can come later; these big things take months to get done, and thus they cannot release a part way done update without breaking the rest of the game.

Edit: I may be overstepping my bounds by guessing on the update's timelines; forgive me if I am. It is just extrapolation from the two updates/open betas I've been here for.

I got pretty weird ability to connect things that aren't related to anything.
He said:

Well, if you want to hit your late 2014 release date then I would have thought that the first new engines would be starting to come in by then, since 5-6 months time is September-October.

Re: Is it just me or...

Work is going faster than ever I'd say, we are more expirenced at the development process and have more help from skilled people than ever before.

Updates have not been coming out any quicker though as recent updates have been a lot larger and more complex than before.

The last two updates basically covered the entire car stats calculation side of the game, which is a huge part or the game and very complex indeed, plus we decided to implement the test track, partially because it'd give everyone something fun to play with.

I've talked about this before but weekly updates don't work well with the development of major game features, and if you want the finished product to be great we need to focus on game quality not making sure we keep everyone entertained between now and final release..

Yeah, getting things done is more important... to be honest, i had more fun while making those 53 cars and 124 engines than with lowrider extreme (and i love that game)

But I totally agree we're slow and bad at estimating release dates :P

Re: Is it just me or...

This website was linked on a page I check many times per day maybe a year ago. I bought the game on the same day I found it. I didn't excpect it to be ready when I bought it and I have still plenty time to wait. I have played most of the car related tycoon games in the past but to all of those I have always been disapointed with.

So please don't rush but please create the game I have waited for a quite long time. :) and what I have learned in the past year or so you really are going into the right direction. Keep up the good work!

Too bad I missed the great Q/A video questions thread. I watched that video today and it covered most of the things that was "open" or not clarified. What I have hoped in few topics I have discussed in was not covered in the video.

So, do you think you can implement somekind of a "top gear' or what ever magazines/tv programs to test cars against your competitors? Imo this would be big thing to compare your cars against your competitors. Of course all of the buyers should have somewhat their own tastes and different demands but succeeding in magazine test in real world typically will boost your sales. In real life there is different kind of magazines/tv programmes for different kind of people/ different kind of tastes so this would be something nice to see in the game also.
