Steam Integration & Other Stuff

Hi, so the following things that I'm going to ask are probably already on the forum somewhere but just because I'm lazy I'm going to ask them here.
1 - When the next big update comes around together with steam integration, will we be able to buy it in early access straight away, or is it going to be like the BeamNG on Steam, where it's there but you can't buy it until it's "Released"?

2 - When you said you're going to release all (or most) of the possible engine configurations without graphics or sound, does that mean that there's going to be no engine size limit when you put the engine in your car? And will these engines be available in the next update or the distant future?

Re: Steam Integration & Other Stuff

1) You can buy into Early Access directly, yes.
2) This is engine-only multiplayer only! So it doesn't affect any car things. You can't put invisible engines into cars.

Ah! Ok. As you can see, I don't actually have the game on my profile and I have been using a friends the entire time. As soon as it's available on Steam, I do plan to buy it immediately.

Re: Steam Integration & Other Stuff

Just buy it now, you can convert to steam later.

And for the invisible engines...

How about you just render two models of the engine overlapping to make it look like a longer engine. You figure out the V6, that's the most important one.

It'll look messed up but I can deal with that for now.

Even that would be a pain and cause all kinds of horrible problems :P

Even invisible engines would be enough for me to figure out the outputs... But will we get dimensions in the stats?

Re: Steam Integration & Other Stuff

Without the 3D art assets there cannot be physical dimensions in the game, and that leads to them not going into cars either.

Then make them simple cubes, or 3D rectangles, whatever those are called. I don't know, you guys are the magicians here.

But if we get the simple cubes make sure they still vibrate for realism.

Re: Steam Integration & Other Stuff

Take this example: Salesman: Hey you want to buy a car from our company? Here have this fancy new model! You: but its a cube and it has hexagon wheels! Salesman: Ohh dont worry! Our magicians are working on it as we speak! we figured we could sell you the car with hexagon wheels so you can already drive the car, but it will be updated and upgraded later! You: Sure I will have the car! (which I really can't imagine you would say)

Can you please stop replying with these nonsense replies? You drop by every 3 months or so, think you know it all, rant about it and leave as we speak?
If they are the magicians, don't interrupt their magic spell with your jibbajabba please. Thanks. It doesn't make sense at all to deliver a game with shit graphics as this will definetly cost them A LOT and A LOT of customers. Peoples judgement is straight forward and harsh and if they think it looks shit, it's hard to get their mind off of that.

That would still be a lot of work and I don't think it's wisely spent time at all... We'll get the engines after those are finished. It's nice to even get the option to play with those without graphics in MP.
